THE BALANCE

Strength without visual excess.

Zahidi occupies the middle ground between Medjool’s monumental presence and Deglet Noor’s refined rhythm. It can provide a substantial trunk and full crown while maintaining a balanced, orderly silhouette.

This combination makes Zahidi useful as a specimen, an entrance palm or a repeated element across a larger development.

LANDSCAPE CHARACTER

A versatile member of the date-palm palette.

Zahidi offers enough visual weight to stand confidently beside substantial architecture without requiring every installation to become a dramatic focal statement. Properly selected inventory can provide strength, balance and repeatability.

It is not universally smaller or more uniform than another cultivar. Mature palms vary, so the actual trunk, crown and finish must be matched to the composition.

COMPARED WITH MEDJOOL

More restrained. Still substantial.

Medjool remains the reference for maximum landmark presence. Zahidi generally offers a more restrained architectural expression while retaining meaningful scale. Compared with Deglet Noor, it usually carries greater visual weight—the balanced option in the three-cultivar collection.

SELECTION & ESTABLISHMENT

Balance begins with the specification.

Define clear-trunk height, trunk diameter and taper, crown elevation, leaf-base finish, quantity, root-ball preparation, destination and degree of matching. Character trunks may suit informal specimens; repeated commercial compositions require closer coordination.

Zahidi needs full sun, well-drained soil, protection from deep planting and carefully monitored establishment irrigation. Keep the root ball evenly moist rather than continuously saturated and protect the terminal growing point.

Zahidi is classified agriculturally as a semidry date; landscape selection should focus on the individual palm and its architectural role.
