01 · THE MATERIAL

Two legendary cultivars.
One uncompromising standard.

Born in California’s low desert and selected for presence far beyond the grove. Every palm is evaluated as living architecture—not interchangeable inventory.

THE MONUMENT

Medjool

Mass, character and commanding scale. Medjool palms bring a broad, muscular trunk and substantial crown to estate entries, resorts and civic landscapes.

  • Bold specimen presence
  • Distinctive heavy trunk
  • Premium architectural impact
THE COLUMN

Deglet Noor

Refined vertical rhythm with a leaner profile. Deglet Noor palms excel in allées, commercial corridors and compositions that demand repetition.

  • Elegant, consistent form
  • Strong avenue applications
  • Classic desert character
02 · FROM GROVE TO GRADE

Handled like the
asset it is.

A mature palm cannot be remanufactured. Our process protects the years already invested in it—from selection and root-ball formation through loading, routing and establishment.

Plan a shipment
01

Select

Match cultivar, trunk character, height, canopy and destination climate to the project.

02

Prepare

Prune with restraint, remove offshoots as specified, clean the trunk and preserve a balanced crown.

03

Harvest

Form a disciplined root ball, protect the bud and trunk, and reduce handling stress at every lift.

04

Secure

Brace, wrap and load for weight distribution, airflow, clearance and long-haul stability.

05

Deliver

Coordinate route, permits, equipment and arrival so the palm moves from trailer to prepared hole.

06

Establish

Set at the correct grade, backfill, stabilize, irrigate deeply and monitor the recovery window.

03 · PALM INTELLIGENCE

What survives the move
depends on what happens next.

Field-tested principles for protecting Phoenix dactylifera before and after installation. Site conditions and local regulations always govern the final prescription.

WATER PRINCIPLE

Deep water. Then let oxygen return.

Newly installed palms need a consistently moist—not saturated—root ball while roots establish. Build irrigation around the root zone, verify moisture below the surface, and expand coverage as roots move outward. Mature palms perform best with deep, measured irrigation adjusted for soil, heat, rainfall, drainage and emitter output.

FIELD NOTENever use a calendar alone. Confirm soil moisture and drainage at the actual site.
LOOK

Pest signals

Chewed crown fibers, entry holes, frass, oozing, scale buildup, webbing or a loosening spear.

LISTEN

Crown activity

Heavy internal feeding can produce audible movement. Treat unusual crown noise as urgent.

ACT

Contain first

Stop pruning, isolate tools and debris, document symptoms and contact a qualified local professional.

04 · ROOTED IN THE LOW DESERT

Experience measured
in seasons—and miles.

Palm Desert Palms was founded in 2020, but our work in the date-palm industry began in 2006. Over two decades we have helped move thousands of Medjool palms from California groves to demanding landscapes across the southern United States.

We understand the palm, the harvest and the road between nursery and project. That continuity matters when the material is mature, the logistics are complex and replacement is not a simple option.
